The birth of Asta Groupe
Founded in 1973 by its President and Founder, Hadj Ahmed ASTAIB, ASTA Groupe began as a modest coffee roaster under the name “Café du Sahara”. The company later diversified into green coffee imports and developed expertise in raw material purchasing.

1998
History
Asta’s production facility
In 1998, a state-of-the-art production facility was built on more than one hectare, with a daily production capacity of 40 tonnes and a fully automated line equipped with the latest roasting and packaging machinery. This gave rise to several coffee brands: ASTA, TAIBA, DIAMANT NOIR and MONDIAL ESPRESSO.

History
ISO 9001 certification
Société des Cafés Sahara becomes the first coffee company in Morocco certified to ISO 9001 Version 2000. Its focus on green coffee selection, purchasing and distribution made its management and quality system a mark of excellence.

Partnership with Luigi LAVAZZA spa.
Société des Cafés Sahara signs an agreement with Luigi LAVAZZA spa, Italy’s leading coffee roaster, becoming the exclusive distributor of Lavazza brands in retail.
